As we have built in over 500 data validation checks the main reasons for your return not being accepted by HMRC will be technical difficulties due to overload of the HMRC systems at peak times, or your Gov Gateway details are not correct. ZapTax will alert you in this case and ask you to update your Gov Gateway ID and password in the Gov IDs section. You can then re-submit. You can check your Gov Gateway login ID and password are correct by logging in at www.gateway.gov.uk - If your details don't work there then you need to contact HMRC.
